ORLANDO, Florida – TMRW Sports and Trybe Ventures announced additions to the investor group for WTGL, the new women’s team golf league in partnership with the LPGA. The latest investors brought together by Trybe Ventures, WTGL’s lead capital partner, include world No. 1 tennis player Aryna Sabalenka, two-time Olympic hockey gold medalist Hilary Knight and five WNBA stars.

The additions build upon the initial WTGL investment group through Trybe Ventures, co-founded by Alex Morgan, and further strengthen WTGL’s mission of elevating women’s golf through a modern approach to team competition, storytelling and fan engagement.

WTGL will feature teams of LPGA Tour stars competing in a season of fast-paced, team match play at the custom-built SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The league is targeting a launch this fall and has announced team ownership groups, including Arthur M. Blank and AMB Sports and Entertainment with Atlanta Drive GC, and Alexis Ohanian with Los Angeles Golf Club.

Fourteen players from the LPGA Tour have committed to compete, including Charley Hull, Lydia Ko, Jeeno Thitikul, Lexi Thompson and Michelle Wie West.

“We continue to see incredible enthusiasm around WTGL and a growing belief in the opportunity to build something truly impactful around women’s golf,” said Morgan. “This group of athletes and leaders understand what it takes to grow women’s sports on a global stage. They believe in the vision and are ready to help us create a modern sports platform that introduces new fans to the incredible talent and personalities of the WTGL players.”

“This group of athletes and business leaders that Trybe Ventures has assembled reinforces the momentum behind WTGL and the broader opportunity in women’s sports,” said Mike McCarley, founder and CEO, TMRW Sports. “All these women have helped shape culture and push women’s sports forward in meaningful ways. Their involvement reflects the confidence we all share in WTGL’s potential to create a compelling new global platform for women’s team golf.”

Trybe Ventures’ investment group in WTGL includes previously announced investors Morgan, Mia Hamm and Abby Wambach. New investors announced today include:

  • Aryna Sabalenka: World 1 women’s tennis player; four-time Grand Slam singles champion
  • Diana Taurasi: Three-time WNBA champion and eleven-time All-Star with the Phoenix Mercury; six-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist; investor in TMRW Sports
  • Hilary Knight: Two-time S. Olympic gold medalist; ten-time world champion; PWHL’s Seattle Torrent
  • Napheesa Collier: Five-time WNBA All-Star with the Minnesota Lynx; two-time S. Olympic gold medalist
  • Gabriela Jaquez: Fifth overall pick in the WNBA draft for the Chicago Sky; 2026 NCAA women’s national champion
  • Nneka Ogwumike: WNBA champion and ten-time All-Star, currently playing for the Los Angeles Sparks; president of the WNBPA
  • Breanna Stewart: Three-time WNBA champion and seven-time All-Star, currently playing with the New York Liberty; three-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist

“It’s an honor to be a part of this investment supporting WTGL and helping grow women’s golf in a new and innovative way with a team-based format in a traditionally individual sport,” said Sabalenka. “Women’s sports are experiencing incredible growth, and leagues like WTGL are shaping the future by creating new opportunities to connect athletes and fans.”

“I’m thrilled to join Alex and the other incredible women investing in this new women’s professional sports platform,” said Knight. “We’re realizing the value of increased investment in women’s hockey, and I know the best women’s golfers in the world will benefit from this investment as well by building an engaging platform for team golf.”

Trybe Ventures’ investment group in WTGL also includes a roster of sports business leaders, including Linnea Roberts, Jenny Just, Susan Lyne, Jen Mackesy and Ellie Rubenstein.

With this latest expansion of the investor group, Trybe Ventures also added Haley Rosen, founder and CEO of Just Women’s Sports, an emerging media platform covering women’s sports, and Steve Nash, a TMRW Sports investor and business leader after a Hall-of-Fame NBA career.

As a showcase for the skill, personalities, and team spirit of the participating LPGA stars, WTGL will build upon the foundation of TGL presented by SoFi.

In addition to featuring foundational elements like mic’d up moments, risk-reward decisions and throwing the Hammer, WTGL will provide the same tech-driven platform with comprehensive shot performance data and statistics-based analytics built seamlessly into the competition.

Additional details on WTGL, including team ownership groups, rosters, media partners and sponsors will be announced in the coming months.
