Player Development Index proudly announces the launch of the PDI Athlete Team — a global roster of professional golfers who represent the highest level of modern athlete development through data, accountability, and long-term performance growth.

More than a traditional sponsorship program, The PDI Athlete Team reflects a larger vision for the future of player development in golf. Built around the belief that elite performance is created through measurable progress and complete athlete development, the team showcases how PDI serves as a lifelong development system for athletes at every stage of their journey.

From aspiring juniors to established tour professionals, PDI provides athletes with the structure, metrics, and performance insights needed to continuously improve and compete at the highest levels of the game.

“The PDI Athlete Team represents what’s possible when development is approached with purpose, consistency, and objective feedback,” said Founder, Roger Knick. “These athletes embody the standards of the Player Development Solutions ecosystem, and they serve as examples for the next generation of players who aspire to reach the professional level through holistic long-term development.”

PDI Athletes are not defined solely by rankings or results. They are recognized for how they approach improvement, competition, preparation, and growth.

At the core of the PDI philosophy is a commitment to sustainable development. Athletes focus on building complete, resilient games that perform under pressure and translate across every level of competition.

By emphasizing consistency, accountability, and objective measurement, PDI helps athletes create a competitive edge that lasts.

PDI Athletes train across every critical area of performance, including:

  • Golf mechanics and technical skill
  • Physical performance and nutrition
  • Mental performance
  • Data analysis and measurable performance tracking

This holistic approach prepares athletes to perform consistently in the demanding environment of professional golf.

PDI removes guesswork from development. Athletes track key performance metrics over time to evaluate growth, identify opportunities, and create more efficient training strategies.

Several athletes on the inaugural PDI Athlete Team advanced through The Golf Performance Center and The Golf Performance Academy, where the Player Development Index has long been used to guide training, monitor growth, and track progress.

This pathway reflects the organization’s goal of creating a clear model for aspiring junior golfers, showing how consistent development habits can lead to opportunities at the professional level.

The inaugural roster includes professionals competing across the PGA TOUR and major tours around the world:

  • John VanDerLaan — PGA TOUR
  • Jason Caron — Champions Tour
  • Saptak Talwar — HotelPlanner Tour / Professional Golf Tour of India
  • Sam Choi — Korn Ferry Tour
  • Harry Hillier — Korn Ferry Tour
  • Lauren Clark — Epson Tour
  • Chase Johnson — PGA TOUR Americas
  • Dave Pastore — PGA TOUR Americas
  • Nathan Han — Asian Development Tour

The PDI Athlete Team platform will provide fans, players, and coaches with behind-the-scenes access into how elite athletes are using PDI throughout their development journey. Content across the platform will include:

  • Athlete performance insights and success stories
  • Training and recovery strategies
  • Tour updates and leaderboard tracking
  • Practice and preparation systems
  • Data-driven development analysis
  • Athlete blogs and educational content
