George Holliday was a successful junior and collegiate golfer who was tragically killed in a 1967 automobile accident at the age of 22.
The Galivants Ferry, S.C. native believed his experience as a junior golfer was paramount in molding him into the fine young man he became. His family created the tournament to give junior golfers an opportunity to compete in a high-caliber tournament setting.
