Set for Aug. 15-16, event will raise funds for the Nekawa Healing Center to expand healing to others

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 19, 2021) – The Morgan Hoffmann Foundation is teeing of its Third Annual Celebrity Pro-Am at Morgan Hoffmann’s home course, Arcola Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey Aug. 15-16.

The event will raise impactful funds to build and develop the Nekawa healing center, an integrative healing oasis situated on a swath of restorative jungle in Nosara, Costa Rica. The center will provide comprehensive integrative healing practices and teachings for guests, whether they are battling an ailment or needing a serene restoration of self.

The signature Pro-Am golf event spans two days, hosting PGA Tour stars and celebrities from the world of sports and entertainment. The “fun” raising celebrations kick off on Sunday with a Pairings Party and Concert, Silent and Live Auctions. Day 2 features PRO-AM Shotgun starts with dinner and live entertainment.

“I don’t play golf for myself anymore,” said Morgan. “I play to support the Foundation and help others heal, as I have healed myself; to help people realize that they can get better.”

Morgan was diagnosed in 2016 with Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD), a form of muscular dystrophy that most commonly causes progressive weakness in the upper arms and shoulders, though symptoms can affect other areas as well.

Shortly after the diagnosis, The Morgan Hoffmann Foundation was established by Morgan and his wife Chelsea. They have since raised over $3 million toward fulfilling their vision of building both a virtual and physical space to teach and support integrative healing modalities for the mind, body and soul.

“When I was first diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, my initial goal was to find a cure,” Hoffmann said. “After the years of research, treatment, and trials; we have since learned that the cure starts within you. Through this PRO-AM, my foundation and launch of the Nekawa center, I look forward to helping others heal through innovative programs, which transmute healing not only in one’s body but also the mind and spirit. Nekowa will be an oasis for all.”

All proceeds from the Morgan Hoffmann Foundation Celebrity Pro-Am will benefit the development of Nekawa Healing Center.
