Mizuho Americas Open set for May 29-June 4 at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Mizuho Americas, the NYC-headquartered arm of one of the largest financial institutions in the world and new title sponsor on the LPGA Tour, recently announced the full field of 120 LPGA players will receive complimentary lodging accommodations during the inaugural Mizuho Americas Open, May 29th-June 4th at the prestigious Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J.

Each participating LPGA Tour player will be provided first-class lodging just across the river in NYC, along with daily ferry service that will shuttle players directly to the clubhouse steps at Liberty National.

“Our commitment to cover player lodging reinforces that our support of this event goes well beyond the golf course,” said Shuji Matsuura, Chairman & CEO, Mizuho Americas. “While hosting these world-class athletes on the LPGA tour is a privilege, elevating the overall experience for each player is a priority, and we are excited to provide this service to all participants.”

The Mizuho player lodging experience complements the $2.75 million purse, which is one of the largest non-Major Championship purses on the LPGA Tour schedule and coincides with record-setting global growth for the LPGA, one of the world’s oldest professional women’s sports organizations.

The 2023 Tour consists of 33 tournaments and offers a record-high $101.4 million in prize money to athletes representing more than 35 countries.

“It’s refreshing to see a new title sponsor on the LPGA Tour fully embrace and value the importance of the overall LPGA player experience,” said Mollie Marcoux Samaan, Commissioner, LPGA Tour. “This is a groundbreaking year for the LPGA Tour, and thanks to the support of new partners like Mizuho Americas, alongside our many valued partners, we are positioned for long-term growth and success.”

A multi-year agreement between the LPGA, Mizuho Americas, and Liberty National Golf Club marks the global bank’s first entry into sports sponsorship in the U.S. As part of the launch, LPGA Tour icon Michelle Wie West, who recently took a step back from professional competition, will serve as Tournament Host and Mizuho Americas brand ambassador.

The Mizuho Americas Open will mark the first time Liberty National welcomes the LPGA Tour, after hosting several world-class events, including the Presidents Cup and multiple PGA TOUR playoff stops.

In addition, the Mizuho Americas Open will concurrently host an AJGA Invitational, which will provide the opportunity for 24 female junior golfers on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Tour to compete alongside the 120-player LPGA Tour field for their own individual title.

This unique format marks the first time that the AJGA and the LPGA have partnered to showcase the stars of today competing inside-the-ropes with the future of the game, creating an unprecedented week of education and access to inspire the next generation of LPGA Tour players.
