LA ROMANA, Dominican Republic – Casa de Campo Resort & Villas – home to the Caribbean’s premier, luxury golf experiences, including its iconic Teeth of the Dog ranked No. 54 in Golf Digest’s “Top 100 Courses in the World” and No. 1 in the Dominican Republic – hosted World Golf Hall of Fame legend Lorena Ochoa on Sept. 4-6.
Ochoa visited Casa de Campo as an official guest of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic. In addition to teeing it up for the first time on the resort’s celebrated Pete Dye-designed Teeth of the Dog course, the Mexican golfing great hosted a golf clinic at the resort’s world-class Golf Learning Center.
Ochoa, a former world No. 1 player and two-time major champion, was joined at the clinic by the Dominican Republic’s Minister of Tourism, David Collado; Leo Matos, Executive Vice President of Central Romana Corporation; and Andrés Pichardo Rosenberg, President of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.
The exclusive gathering highlighted the historic milestones that cemented Ochoa’s legendary status including her 27 LPGA Tour titles, her record-shattering streak of 158 consecutive weeks as the world No. 1 player, and her induction into the prestigious World Golf Hall of Fame. During the session, Ochoa shared insights from her career, offered technical tips, and spoke about the core values that guided her successful professional journey.
The event also brought together young golfers from the Casa de Campo Golf Academy and the Dominican Golf Federation, giving the youngsters a unique opportunity to interact with one of the most influential figures in Latin American golf history.
