Partnership enhances company’s commitment to inclusiveness, business of golf for all women

DALLAS – Arcis Golf, the second largest and fastest-growing owner and operator of private, resort, and daily fee clubs in the United States, is the new Presenting Sponsor for the National Women’s Collegiate Golf Championship.

The 28th annual event, organized by the Women In Golf Foundation, Inc. (WIGF), will be held April 24-26 at Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Ga.

The invitational championship is WIGF’s major fundraising event, in which select women’s college teams participate and vie for the title. Teams play for a trophy named in honor of Renee Powell, who was the second ever African American woman to play on the LPGA Tour, has a dorm named after her at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and is a 2022 inductee of the World Golf Hall of Fame.

North Carolina A&T State University has captured the Renee Powell Cup each of the past three years.

“I am thrilled to be partnering with Arcis Golf,” said LaJean Gould, President of WIGF. “The company’s golf industry leadership will provide a valuable resource for our collegiate players as they navigate their careers and participate in many aspects of the game and the industry.

“We’re proud that Arcis Golf has become the 2023 Presenting Sponsor — it means a lot that they wish to play a valuable role in both what we do on and off the course.”

The sponsorship opportunity is a perfect alignment with Arcis Golf’s social responsibility, diversity, and inclusion objectives.

“As Arcis Golf continues its commitment to inclusiveness, WIGF exemplifies the facets of growing the sport from little girls to young women as they learn more than just the game of golf, but also the business of golf,” said Linnet Carty, Corporate Director of Inclusion & Equity, Arcis Golf.

“Additionally, as a former board member with WIGF, I’ve seen the dedication and commitment the organization puts in to producing a first-class championship.”

The theme for the three-day event is “Elevating the Champion’s Game … In Golf and Life.” Monday, April 24, opens with a professional-development seminar for the participants, followed by a round of golf pairing the collegiate women with business professionals and tournament sponsors, and a post-round reception.

The 36-hole, stroke-play competition will be held Tuesday, April 25, and Wednesday, April 26, finishing with a VIP awards ceremony.

WIGF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to enhancing the development of women and girls via the game of golf through education, leadership, and life-skill training. WIGF has contributed nearly $200,000 to collegiate women’s golf programs, while more than 2,000 women and girls have participated and benefitted from the work of WIGF at both the collegiate and junior golf level.

Blake S. Walker, Founder and CEO of Arcis Golf, said the partnership with WIGF is a natural fit for his company.

“What sets WIGF and its National Championship apart is the infusion of professional development,” Walker said. “The panel discussion is intentionally set up to help these women athletes meet with influential business executives to help cultivate future opportunities such as fellowships, internships, scholarships, and careers.

“When Arcis Golf was approached to partner with WIGF, we didn’t hesitate to get involved at the highest level.”

Arcis Golf’s commitment to the industry extends far and wide. It recently renewed its support of the United States Adaptive Golf Alliance with a financial contribution to facilitate the Alliance’s outreach campaigns and programming.

In addition, Arcis Golf’s “Round Up for Els for Autism” campaign, now in its fifth year, has raised nearly $500,000 for the Els for Autism Foundation, founded by professional golfer and World Golf Hall of Fame member Ernie Els and his wife Liezl.

An industry leader in providing inventive direction and unrivaled lifestyle amenities that complement exceptional playing experiences, Arcis Golf focuses its resources on creating extraordinary experiences and forging emotional connections with members and guests. The company has received numerous honors, including a National Golf Foundation “2023 Top 100 Businesses in Golf.”
