With golf’s global audience continuing to grow, new figures from the 2025 PGA Tour and major championships reveal which tournaments attract the largest TV audiences.

We’re now two weeks away from the first major of the year with a short stretch in Texas taking centre stage in the shape of the Texas Children’s Houston Open and the Valero Texas Open.

With this in mind, the team at Betsson analyzed all the final round tv coverage in the 2025 PGA Tour events to see which one was the most popular with golf fans.

Not surprisingly, The Masters tops the ranking with 12.7 million viewers, making it the most-watched golf broadcast of the year. The U.S. Open follows with 5.4 million viewers, while the PGA Championship ranks third with 4.76 million viewers, ranking off a top three for the majors.

The Tour Championship and RBC Heritage also drew huge audiences, reaching 4.49 million and 4.3 million viewers, respectively. Other standout events include The Open Championship (4.1M) and The Players Championship (3.6M).

Looking at the four events set to take place in the state of Texas, all of them rank outside the top 10, however the Valero Texas Open did rank amongst the top 15 with 2.45 million viewers in 2025, the highest of any of the Texan events.

The other Texan events Charles Schwab Challenge (2.37M), Texas Children’s Houston Open (2.36M) and CJ Cup Bryan Nelson (2.08M) all ranked 16th, 17th & 21st respectively.
