Five-time PGA TOUR winner, LSU alum and Raising Cane’s partner connects with fans and works a ‘shift’ at a local restaurant as he builds momentum in the 2026 season
HOUSTON – PGA TOUR star and pro golfer Sam Burns brought his momentum to Houston on Tuesday, hosting a fan meet and greet at Raising Cane’s just days before competing in the Texas Children’s Houston Open at Memorial Park Golf Course on March 26.
The Louisiana native and LSU alum, who has emerged as one of the game’s top competitors, spent time with fans, signed autographs and stepped behind the counter to work a “shift,” serving Craveable Chicken Finger Meals in the Drive-Thru and at the front counter.
With close ties to the region, the tournament carries a home-game feel as he looks to build on his early-season form.
“I’m excited for this season. We always have a great turnout with fans and I’m looking forward to being back and getting out there this year,” said Burns. “It’s been an up and down season, but I feel like my game is trending in the right direction.”
As part of his preparation week, Burns emphasized the importance of getting comfortable on the course and settling into a rhythm ahead of competition.
“In terms of preparation for these tournaments, we usually get here early in the week, learn the course and make sure everything is ready for Thursday,” said Burns. “I went out and played the course earlier and it’s in great shape. I’m excited to get out there.”
Burns’ appearance also highlights his ongoing partnership with Raising Cane’s, a relationship rooted in shared Louisiana ties and a long-standing friendship with owner and founder Todd Graves.
“We play a long schedule all year, so it always helps starting the week out with some Cane’s — I’m from Louisiana so it’s in my DNA,” said Burns. “Todd and I have a great friendship and it’s amazing to see what he’s built and how much they give back to the Community. It’s a huge honor to partner with Cane’s.”
Graves, who connected with Burns during his time at LSU, has supported his rise from collegiate standout to one of the PGA TOUR’s most consistent performers.
“Sam and I met when he was playing for LSU and have been friends ever since. He’s a true Caniac and we always have fun together,” said Graves. “I’ve enjoyed cheering him on throughout the years and am proud of all that he’s accomplished. I’m looking forward to watching him compete this weekend.”
Raising Cane’s continues to bring major sports moments into its Restaurants, connecting fans with top athletes in meaningful ways while celebrating performance on and off the field. Burns’ visit in Houston is the latest example of the Brand’s commitment to supporting athletes and creating memorable fan experiences tied to some of the biggest moments in sports.
