Second-year philanthropic initiative – Birdies for Nationwide Children’s – directly benefits the Memorial Tournament Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Nationwide Children’s Hospital

DUBLIN, Ohio – The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday announced that Columbus-based global private aviation leader NetJets will continue to support Nationwide Children’s Hospital through its Birdies for Nationwide Children’s presented by NetJets program.

The second-year charitable initiative will provide a $25 donation on behalf of NetJets to Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Memorial Tournament Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or other areas of greatest need for each birdie made during competition at the 2023 Memorial Tournament.

The program is made possible thanks to NetJets and its shared philanthropic vision with the Memorial Tournament to support Nationwide Children’s, which has been a primary beneficiary of the Tournament since its inception in 1976. In turn, the Memorial will join NetJets and match its final Birdies for Nationwide Children’s donation to the NICU.

In its inaugural year Birdies for Nationwide Children presented by NetJets raised nearly $62,000 thanks to 1,237 birdies made during the four competition rounds at the 2022 Memorial Tournament.

New for the 2023 program, the public is now invited to join the cause by donating to Birdies for Nationwide Children. All public donations include eligibility to win a Memorial Tournament presented by Workday and NetJets prize package.

“Since 2014, NetJets has been proud to be the private aviation provider for the PGA TOUR®. Partnering with the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday in our hometown of Columbus, Ohio is a thrill for us every year,” said Adam Johnson, Chairman and CEO, NetJets. “As it naturally aligns with our company’s philanthropic mission, we are pleased to again support The Birdies for Nationwide Children’s and look forward to cheering on our NetJets Brand Ambassadors on the greens during this year’s Tournament.”

“The Memorial Tournament is proud to continue this impactful program with NetJets in supporting Nationwide Children’s Hospital,” said Dan Sullivan, Executive Director, the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday. “NetJets shares a common charitable mission with the Memorial and is a strong advocate of the Tournament, including their support of the Memorial’s annual benefit concert.”

Advancing newborn critical care in the Memorial Tournament NICU is already evident with its family-centered environment that provides the highest quality of medical care for premature and sick infants.

As part of the largest neonatal network in the country, the Memorial Tournament NICU is comprised of rigorously trained neonatologists, advanced-practice nurses and therapists who utilize an interdisciplinary care approach to diagnose and treat patients suffering from complications of prematurity, complex birth defects, respiratory distress and metabolic diseases.

This combined expertise makes the Memorial Tournament NICU at Nationwide Children’s one of the finest in the nation.
