STAMFORD, Connecticut – NBC Sports announced recently television coverage and early commitments for the 36th annual American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament, set to return to Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Lake Tahoe, July 11-13.

NBC Sports will present tournament coverage Friday-Sunday, July 11-13 across NBC, Peacock and GOLF Channel. In addition, the networks of NBCUniversal will surround tournament week with comprehensive news and digital coverage.

Early commitments feature stars from throughout sports and entertainment, including fan favorites Charles Barkley, three-time champion Tony Romo, Travis and Jason Kelce,Colin Jost, Miles Teller, Ray Romano, Nate Bargatze, Larry the Cable Guy and Jack Wagner, who along with Jim McMahon are the only two players who have competed in every tournament.

A number of first-time participants will compete in the American Century Championship, including Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold, San Francisco 49ers tight endGeorge Kittle and television sportscaster Rich Eisen.

Current NFL stars entered into the championship include 2024 MVP Josh Allen, Derek Carr, Aaron Rodgers, Baker Mayfield, Davante Adams, Kyle Juszczyk, Adam Thielen, Trevor Lawrence, Matt Ryan and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. Pro Football Hall-of-Famers in the field as early commitments include Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Emmitt Smith, Marcus Allen, Charles Woodson, Tim Brown, Brian Urlacher, DeMarcus Ware and Dwight Freeney.

Defending champion and two-time winner Mardy Fish will return to defend his 2024 title, along with World Golf Hall-of-Famer Annika Sorenstam, Joe Pavelski, MLB Hall-of-Famer John Smoltz, former Boston Red Sox pitcher Derek Lowe and Basketball Hall-of-Famer Ray Allen. Retired MLB stars include Alex Rodriguez, Albert Pujols, Hall-of-Famer Joe Mauer, Kevin Millar, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley.

The 2025 American Century Championship will utilize the Modified Stableford format whereby points are awarded by score per hole. Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, a George Fazio design, has been rated by Golf Digest Magazine as one of “American’s Top 100 Golf Courses.”

Since the tournament’s inception in 1990, the American Century Championship has donated nearly $8 million to charity and non-profits, including the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, a 500-person, nonprofit basic biomedical research organization. The event features an elevated $750,000 purse, with many of the players donating their winnings to charities and non-profits.
