DULUTH, Georgia – The Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure announced recently that it will be partnering with Folds of Honor, an organization that provides life-changing academic scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled U.S. military service members and first responders.
Through this nonprofit partnership, the tournament will fund a minimum of 15 educational scholarships for impacted families in the greater Atlanta area. These scholarships will provide financial support for a variety of education needs, including private school tuition for grades K-12, as well as tuition for college, technical or trade school and post-graduate work, including a master’s degree, doctorate, or professional program.
In addition, the Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure will host Fields of Honor Friday during the opening round on April 26 to celebrate America and honor those who guard our freedoms and protect our families. Fans are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue in support of the day’s festivities.
“I want to thank the Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure, its outstanding staff and the patrons who support our recipients and Folds of Honor Friday,” said Lt. Col Dan Rooney, founder and CEO of Folds of Honor. “Folds of Honor is proud to team up with the Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure. We believe the partnership will be a force multiplier to the mission and awareness of Folds of Honor and increase scholarship funding to the families of American military and first responder heroes. Together we will meet sacrifice with hope.”
A limited number of complimentary tickets for competition rounds have been allocated to verified service members and veterans, as well as verified current and retired law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, nurses and 911 dispatchers’ compliments of Vensure Employer Solutions.
“One of the most rewarding aspects of our sponsorship is acknowledging the dedication and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform, and supporting scholarship opportunities for their families,” said Alex Campos, CEO of Vensure Employer Solutions. “We are honored to have the opportunity to salute and support those who serve our country, as well as those who serve others in time of crisis.”
Sponsorship opportunities to support the partnership with Folds of Honor Friday are still available, and more information can be secured by contacting info@mitsubishielectricclassic.com.
Since 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded more than 4,000 scholarships to individuals in Georgia representing nearly $18.5 million in educational impact. More than 600 of these scholarships were awarded in the 2023-2024 school year, totaling $2.9 million in educational impact.
Founded by Lt. Colonel Dan Rooney, a decorated F-16 Viper Fighter Pilot, the organization expanded its mission in 2022 to also support America’s first responders, including police, fire, EMTs, and paramedics.
