LINCOLN, Nebraska – Landscapes Unlimited is 90 days from completing a significant renovation of the golf courses at Wildhorse Golf Club in Denton, Texas, 30 minutes north of Dallas metro.

Scheduled to wrap up in June, the six-month project centers on Landscapes Unlimited managing a broad work scope with incredible results:

  • Greens – Complete re-builds with new USGA-spec rootzone and complete drainage installs which restore agronomic lifespan and provide a long-term, consistent putting surface.
  • Subgrade Adjustments – Increased pin-able areas and improved playability without drastic changes to the original green designs.
  • Tees – All new with full sub-surface drainage for superior durability in wet conditions.
  • Bunkers – Better Billy Bunker System installed in new bunkers for improved drainage, maintenance and playability.
  • Overall Outcome – Modernized, more sustainable playing surfaces with better shot options and lower long-term maintenance risk.
  • “Landscapes Unlimited is super reputable and was selected by Wildhorse for its value engineering, keen attention to detail and high-quality outputs,” said Rhett Hubbard, General Manager of Wildhorse Golf Club. “The company’s extraordinary regional resources provide logistical and operational advantages no other company could come close to matching.”

“We focus on benefits to the course ownership in terms of extended turf and green life, reduced long-term maintenance issues, improved drainage reducing weather-related closures and value-preserving capital improvements” said Tom O’Connor, Senior Project Manager of Landscapes Unlimited.  “Golfers experience firmer, more consistent putting surfaces, expanded pin-placement options, improved tee conditions, better bunker performance and so much more.”

The local Landscapes Unlimited team, led by Project Manager Jacob Meyer, Project Construction Superintendent Jose Silva, Irrigation Superintendent Gerardo Gonzales and Assistant Superintendent Terry Osborne, worked in lockstep with Wildhorse’s Hubbard and Director of Agronomy Ryan Coffman.

Landscapes Unlimited is the primary contractor under golf course architect Gary Brawley, a longstanding member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, who praised the company for its “complete collaboration and being very easy to work with.”
