Record-breaking television episode features four holes-in-one on celebrated celebrity course

INDIAN WELLS, California – Indian Wells Golf Resort, the world-class public golf, vacation, culinary and events destination located in the picturesque Coachella Valley, played host to the latest episode of Breaking Par’s “Ace Race with Tania Tare” on its award-winning Celebrity Course, with contestants competing head-to-head to make the most holes-in-one.

Breaking Par, which is owned, produced and distributed by Elevated Media Partners, is an Emmy-nominated golf television show airing nationally in more than 100 million households across multiple regional sports networks including Bally Sports.

The thrilling challenge pitted Tare, a noted professional golfer and golf trick shot superstar, against World Long Drive Champion Troy Mullins in a race against time to sink the most aces. Playing on the Celebrity’s beautiful par-3 16th hole from 140 yards out, each competitor defied the odds by dropping two holes-in-one in under four hours before the day’s first tee time of golfers arrived, signaling the end of the exciting “Ace Race.” Mullins went on to secure the tiebreaker by hitting the most balls inside a four-foot circle around the pin.

The acclaimed resort’s 36 holes of exceptional golf are widely known as two of the premier public layouts in both California and the U.S., with the Celebrity Course earning GOLF Channel’s GolfPass recognition in 2023 as one of the “50 Most Popular Courses in the U.S.”

Designed by architect Clive Clark and colloquially referred to as “Beauty,” The Celebrity features aesthetically pleasing water features, colorful wildflowers and narrow corridors placing an emphasis on shot making.

The John Fought-designed Players Course, or “The Beast,” is a longer, more open layout with demanding bunkering and stunning vistas of the surrounding mountain ranges. Like The Celebrity, no roads or homes disrupt the course, and each hole is designed to provide a feeling of privacy and escape in the heart of the lively Coachella Valley.

“We are so excited to host the latest episode of Breaking Par’s ‘Ace Race’ on our incredible Celebrity Course and be a part of this dramatic, record-breaking challenge,” says Ben Rodny, director of sales and marketing at Indian Wells Golf Resort. “Viewers will see firsthand just how gorgeous our courses are here in the Coachella Valley as well as discovering the loads of fun golfers have when teeing it up here.”

“This episode of ‘Ace Race’ is truly something special, and we couldn’t have asked for a better setting than the world-class Indian Wells Golf Resort,” says Ryan Johnson, executive producer of Breaking Par. “Breaking Par continues to develop creative, ‘outside-the-teebox’ content that is entertaining for golfers and non-golfers alike, and we look forward to the episode airing throughout July and August.”

Premiering on July 1, the latest episode of “Ace Race” can be viewed on Bally Sports through August 31 in addition to airing in perpetuity on the @BreakingParTV YouTube channel at the following link. On top of bragging rights, the winner received a custom Phat Rides, a “Phat Caddie” golf scooter outfitted with all the accessories a golfer needs.

Beyond the two superb golf courses, Indian Wells Golf Resort also boasts 17 brand new Top Tracer Driving Range hitting bays complete with comfortable couches, high-definition TVs and top-notch food / drinks service. In addition to usage via The Academy programming, the range is also a key feature of Shots in the Night, Coachella Valley’s best outdoor golf entertainment experience for players of any skill level including beginners.

Utilizing a premier driving range and a superb short game practice area, The Academy offers golf camps and schools, player development and junior programs, corporate instruction and memberships. Staffed by a stellar team of qualified golf instructors, The Academy also features two state-of-the-art indoor hitting bays featuring TrackMan technology and three-dimensional swing analysis.
