LOS ANGELES – Outlyr and the LPGA Tour has announced that the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro will return to El Caballero Country Club in suburban Los Angeles for a second consecutive year in 2026, taking place April 13-19 as LA’s signature LPGA event.

Named for the creek that meanders through the San Fernando Valley property, El Caballero Country Club opened in 1957. The golf course was re-designed in 1963 by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., and was recently renovated by his son, Rees Jones, in 2021.

El Cab, as it is affectionately known, has also hosted the 2024 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship, as well as U.S. Open, U.S. Amateur and U.S. Senior Open qualifiers.

The 2025 JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro boasted one of the strongest fields of the LPGA Tour season and featured a $3.75 million purse, one of the largest prize funds on the LPGA Tour outside of the major championships and the CME Group Tour Championship.

“El Caballero Country Club was a tremendous partner in hosting the JM Eagle LA Championship this past April, and we look forward to returning to El Cab in putting on another world-class event in Los Angeles in 2026,” said Tim Erensen, managing partner for Outlyr, tournament operator for the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro.

“We appreciate the people at El Cab, their hospitality and collaboration in making the 2025 JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro an unforgettable experience,” said Walter Wang, Chairman and CEO of JM Eagle. “As LA’s only LPGA Tour stop, it was more than just a premier sporting event – it was a platform for giving back and making a difference. From supporting wildfire relief to uplifting the greater Los Angeles community, we are proud to align the tournament with a greater purpose.”

“Each year, we strive to make the tournament better,” said Shirley Wang, CEO of Plastpro. “Not only to give these incredible, hardworking LPGA athletes the stage they deserve, but to inspire the next generation of golfers who dreams of playing professionally one day. Hopefully, in more than one way, we are shaping the future of women’s athletics.”

The 2026 JM Eagle LA Championship will mark the fifth year for El Caballero Country Club hosting an LPGA Tour event. El Cab was a three-time LPGA Tour host (2002-2004), won by Hall-of-Famers Seri Pak and Annika Sorenstam. In April, Ingrid Lindblad recorded her first LPGA Tour victory in just her third start as an LPGA Tour member at El Cab, finishing at 21-under par and winning by one shot over fellow rookie Akie Iwai.

“El Caballero is honored to once again host the stars of the LPGA Tour for the 2026 JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro,” said Phil Lopez, general manager of El Caballero Country Club. “The membership enjoyed the game’s best and brightest walking the grounds where they play each and every week. We can’t wait to welcome back these talented golfers for another spectacular week at our club.”

Walter and Shirley Wang echoed the enthusiasm, “We look forward to returning to El Cab in 2026 to once again celebrate the world’s greatest female golfers as they chase their dreams on the LPGA Tour and continue making a meaningful impact.”

The previous host, Wilshire Country Club, is continuing its multi-million-dollar course renovation, for which JM Eagle and the JM Eagle LA Championship have donated all the irrigation, drainage, and water pipes. It is anticipated to return as host in future years after the comprehensive upgrade is completed.
