New Staff Model Blades and CB Irons combine timeless looks with modern technology

CHICAGO – Wilson Sporting Goods Co., the iron brand with more major championships won than any other golf company, announces redefined iterations of its iconic blades and cavity back irons, named the Wilson Staff Blades and Wilson Staff CB irons.

Wilson LABS engineers designed the new Staff Model Blades and CB irons together as one connected family in order to allow the elite player to dial in their long and short iron preferences. As a result, both irons feature common lines and weighting, similar aesthetic details and parallel performance attributes. Precision milling on the face allows for longer ball-to-face contact for more consistent spin and increased stopping power in both iron offerings.

The Fluid Feel Hosel, adapted from the classic Wilson Dyna-Powered irons, was refined to eliminate unused weight within the hosel and redistribute it toward the toe for an expanded impact area. This weight shift toward the toe also allows the golfer to hold the face open and provides forgiveness while maintaining control. Both sets feature stock offerings of the True Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 115 shaft and the Golf Pride Z (no-cord) grip.

“Throughout the development process, we engaged our Wilson Advisory Staff across the TOUR so that we could deliver irons that will make them better shot shapers,” said Bob Thurman, Global General Manager of Golf and Vice President of Research & Development at Wilson.

“Three-time major winner Padraig Harrington is a prime example as he put the new Staff Model CB irons in play for the first time at the TimberTech Championship this past November and won by a compelling seven shots.”

Continuing the rich history of Wilson forged blade irons, many of which have been played by the game’s greats, the new Staff Model Blades are based on the timeless design that has been admired over the years. The Forged 8620 Carbon Steel, one of the softest materials available, provides instant feedback and on demand workability.
