Whoosh launches tee time lottery solution for private golf clubs

Modern tee time lottery private clubs have been asking for — configurable weighted requests, an automated waitlist, and the fairness logic your staff can defend

MILL VALLEY, California — Whoosh, Inc., a leading provider of modern operations software for golf, racquet and hospitality facilities, has announced the general availability of Whoosh Lottery, a tee time lottery feature built natively into the Whoosh platform for private golf clubs.

Tee time lotteries have been a staple of private club operations for decades, and Whoosh has supported similar workflows to manage tee sheet compaction — requests, waitlists, booking restrictions by membership type — in response to consistent demand from its club customer base.

What has launched is the formalized, full-featured expression of that capability: a standardized weighted lottery algorithm that gives clubs a configurable, points-based draw built directly into their existing Whoosh environment.

Whoosh Lottery enables private club staff to configure and run a weighted or manual tee time lottery quickly and easily. Clubs can set point sources, membership weighting, guest treatment, and rolling windows directly in settings.

Unplaced members are automatically awarded priority points for the next draw and flow into a live operational waitlist, where staff can fill open times in one click or members can claim them via Whoosh’s Waitlist Notifications feature.

“We didn’t invent the tee time lottery. We built the version that actually works,” said Colin Read, CEO and co-founder of Whoosh. “We’ve been listening to clubs ask for this for years. More than a dozen development partners helped us get it right, and we’re proud to say their fingerprints are all over it.”

Tee time availability is one of the most politically charged conversations in private club management right now, and most clubs are still handling it with software that wasn’t built for it. With Whoosh Lottery, club staff set the rules, the waitlist closes itself, and when a member asks why they didn’t get a time Saturday morning, the answer is clear.

Whoosh Lottery is available to new and existing Whoosh customers.
