‘America’s most-awarded facility’ shares list with illustrious courses like Torrey Pines, Pebble Beach, Silverado, Sea Ranch, Old Greenwood & more

SACRAMENTO, California (June 4, 2021) – The nonprofit travel organization, Visit California, has recently named the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex as one of their 13 Trip-Worthy California Golf Courses, joining an illustrious list of golf courses across the big state.

Visit California’s mission is to develop and maintain marketing programs – in partnership with the state’s travel industry – that inspire travel to, and within, California.

“Golf courses tend to be set among spectacular scenery, and that’s especially true in the Golden State,” said VisitCalifornia. “Mountains, deserts, forests, and hundreds of miles of pristine coastline give California course designers the opportunity to display Mother Nature’s gifts along with challenging layouts for lovers of the game. These 13 courses, listed south to north, showcase the state’s biodiversity and beauty. Pick three (or four or five), pack your clubs, and plan an unforgettable road trip.”

“We feel blessed to be included with such an amazing group of golf courses from the coast to the mountains and from Northern to Southern California,” says Ken Morton, Jr, VP Retail & Marketing for Morton Golf, the management company running Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. “We’re honored that the State of California recognizes the unique jewel that Sacramento has with this special Municipal golf property.”

The organization had this to say about the facility:

“Tune up your game at Haggin Oaks with two championship golf courses, a world-class teaching facility, and a 100-stall lighted driving range in Sacramento. The courses offer two distinct layouts that will appeal to golfers of all skill levels. Arcade Creek is ideal for beginners who will face fewer hazards and less difficulty. Low handicappers will be tested on the Alister MacKenzie Golf Course, named for its creator, the same World Golf Hall of Fame golf architect who designed Augusta National, home of the Masters.”

Haggin Oaks is Sacramento’s premiere golf complex offering two 18-hole championship courses, world class learning center, Golf Super Shop and MacKenzie’s Sports Bar and Grille. The Haggin Oaks Learning Center has over 100 hitting stations on the award-winning driving range, five practice greens, two sand bunkers, three academy holes, and a complete club fitting center, making it one of the most developed learning centers in Northern California.
