Kicking of May 1 at Langdon Farms Golf Club in Aurora, Tour’s Portland Chapter to feature 7 area championships for amateur golfers of all ages and skill levels

PORTLAND, Oregon (April 20, 2021) – The U.S. Am Tour, the fastest growing and largest amateur golf tour in the country, is coming to the Portland area with the launch of the Tour’s 45th local chapter, offering amateur golfers of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to compete in local championship tournaments at premier venues.

The Portland chapter of the U.S. Am Tour will kick off its inaugural season on Saturday, May 1 at Langdon Farms Golf Club in Aurora, the first of seven area championships scheduled to take place through August. 

Registration is now open for all seven Portland Tour championships online at www.usamtour.com.

“Oregon has a rich history of hosting several of the game’s top amateur championships. We are excited to launch the U.S. Am Tour in Portland and offer Tour members elite tournament competitions at some of the top courses in Oregon,” said Joe Wagner, director, U.S. Am Tour.

Portland resident Kayla Good will oversee the Portland chapter of the U.S. Am Tour as Tour Director. Good, who also works as a content marketer at a local urgent care, is looking forward to bringing her passion in golf to the Tour.

“Being a golfer and also working for a healthcare company, I have seen firsthand how therapeutic golf has been during the pandemic,” said Good. “I look forward to bringing more amateur golfers out to the local golf courses on the U.S. Am Tour and am excited to join the team.”

The U.S. Am Tour was founded in 2020 with the mission of providing an unrivaled, immersive and authentic tournament experience for competitive amateur players of all abilities and ages. 

Membership is $139, valid for 365 days from day of registration. With more than 5,500 members, the U.S. Am Tour’s inaugural year in 2021 will include more than 550 local championships and 25 two-day regional major championships. 

Players competing on the Am Tour will have the opportunity to qualify for the season-ending national championships via points accumulating on each local Tour’s Order of Merit, taking place in September at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
