Troon announced that it has acquired Applied Golf Management, a golf and hospitality management company based in New Jersey. As part of the acquisition, Troon will take over management duties of the 13 courses in Applied Golf’s portfolio.

This story was first reported by Golf Inc. magazine.

“[Applied Golf has] cultivated a superb portfolio of clubs throughout New York, New Jersey and Florida by working hard and developing customized solutions for clients – tenets both companies share,” said Tim Schantz, President and CEO of Troon. “With the addition of Applied Golf, we significantly expand our footprint and management capabilities across the Northeast.”

Applied Golf will continue to maintain its office in Millstone Township, New Jersey, and all Applied Golf associates will continue to support and manage facilities in the region.

“We could not have chosen a better organization than Troon to help carry on what we have built over the past 17 years,” said Dave Wasenda, founder and president of Applied Golf. “This acquisition closes a great chapter in our company’s history, while beginning an amazing new one for our clients and associates.

“With Troon’s resources, expertise and growing portfolio of managed properties, it is an exciting time for all of us to become part of the Troon family. We look forward to continued success and contributing to the company’s strong growth.”

Troon recently announced the acquisition of Invited’s third-party management business, further bolstering its position as one of the largest management companies in the country and expanding its footprint into key markets.
