Best-in-class turf upgrade delivers championship-level conditions for members
AUSTIN, Texas – The Hills Country Club, a member of Invited Clubs’ national portfolio of member properties, is proud to announce the completion of a renovation project for the greens at its most iconic offering – The Signature Course.
Originally designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, this comprehensive project reinforces the club’s ongoing commitment to delivering an elevated golf experience worthy of its world-class legacy.

“The renovations to our greens have delivered championship-quality playability for our members, ensuring they can be challenged in a fair, yet competitive way,” said John Woodeshick, general manager of The Hills Country Club. “We’re excited to get our members out to play and enjoy the reimagination of our Signature Course.”
This project underscores The Hills’ continued reinvestment in excellence while honoring the Signature Course’s legendary design pedigree. The Hills community was once a cattle ranch before the Signature Course emerged as one of the premier courses in the state, hosting a PGA TOUR Champions event from 2003 to 2009 where it produced legendary champions like Bernard Langer, Jay Hass, Hale Irwin and others.
The Signature Course at The Hills CC was designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened for play in 1981. Regarded as golf’s greatest champion and one of the modern era’s most acclaimed architects, Nicklaus transformed the dramatic backdrop of the beautiful Texas Hill Country, complete with granite outcroppings, groves of live oaks and spring-fed creeks, into a stunning layout.
With its relatively narrow fairways, shrewdly placed bunkers and challenging green complexes, the Signature Course demands a player’s confidence and commitment on every shot.
Today, The Hills features four championship quality golf courses sure to please avid golfers. Flintrock Falls, Yaupon and Live Oak round out the options with each featuring stunning views and layouts that appeal to golfers of all abilities.
Additionally, the Player Development Center features a practice par four, par five and short game area to help members work on their skills. Personalized coaching and group golf lesson offerings, as well as custom fittings and real-time swing analysis, ensure players get the necessary guidance, instruction and support to grow their game.
