Club releases stay & play packages for 2024

GLADEWATER, Texas — Tempest Golf Clubthe award-winning East Texas golfing gem recently has been selected to host the 2024 Celebrity Open the largest and most prestigious Celebrity Pro-Am tournament in its five-year history.

The 2024 Celebrity Open benefitting the Texas Warriors, will be held at Tempest, Tuesday March 19, and with the tournament nearing a complete sellout, excitement is high. Sports celebrities from all across the athletic spectrum will make the trip to compete on the Jeffrey Brauer designed course recently named as the third best layout you can play in Texas by Texas Monthly Magazine.

Among the celebrities on hand for this day-long event including Heisman Trophy Winner Billy Sims of the University of Oklahoma and Hooks, Texas, former baseball stars, Texas Rangers great Rafael Palmeiro, Jose Conseco and football legends Houston Oliers’ Warren Moon, Dallas Cowboys’ Drew Pearson along with major league pitcher Pat Mahomes, Sr., from Whitehouse.

“This will be an incredibly unique event for golfers in East Texas to get a chance to tee it up with these famous sports celebrities in the game which binds us all, golf,” said Tempest head golf professional Randy Wade.

The event will include a silent auction with priceless autograph memorabilia, prizes, gift items and contests along with the chance to spend the day, eating, golfing, and getting to know these celebrities on the renovated East Texas golfing masterpiece.

For those who want to enjoy the full Tempest Golf Club experience before, during and after the celebrity event, or anytime in the 2024 golfing season, complete Tempest Stay and Play Packages are now available in the two modern three bedroom 2 bath condos located on the Tempest Driving Range.

Choices include 1, 2 or 3 nights in the 3-bedroom, 2-baths lodging directly behind the Tempest practice range and includes green fees and range balls. Prices range from $600, $1,200 or $1,800 depending on one, two or three nights staying and playing at the course judged best outlying course in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by Avid Golfer Magazine.

Lower rates are available for those who want to use the condo only to see the best of the East Texas area without golf included.
