HARTFORD, Connecticut  – SwingU, the golf technology and media company, announced recently that it will sponsor The Junior Tour Powered by Under Armour and become the circuit’s exclusive golf GPS rangefinder, strokes gained data and game-improvement app.

The three-year national sponsorship will see SwingU expand its reach nationally to thousands of elite junior golfers, providing the players and their coaches & parents with industry-leading features such as tee-to-green caddie tools, including all StrackaLine green-reading maps globally, strokes gained statistics and prescriptive practice plans & drills.

SwingU, headquartered in Hartford, Conn., will also sponsor the nearby New England regional tournaments for The Junior Tour (UA) in 2023.

The Junior Tour Powered by Under Armour is a national youth golf league for boys and girls ages 6-18 of all skill levels. Under Armour Junior Golfers play in a fun, friendly and competitive environment while developing the skills and self-confidence to improve their golf game.

Leagues operate during the Spring Season (March-May) with a Summer National Championship in June and the Fall Season (September-December) with a Winter National Championship taking place in February.

“We are very proud to have partnered with The Junior Tour Powered by Under Armour,” said Charles Cox, CEO of SwingU. “Our team is laser-focused on providing amateur golfers, including competitive juniors, the same suite of tools a tour professional leverages, from caddie to data coach to practice planning. We’re excited to facilitate the next generation of elite golfers as they chase their dreams on the UAJT & beyond.”

This Fall, the UAJT hosted 37 leagues across the nation, and it is expecting to host more than 50 leagues across the country in Spring 2023 with over 3,000 participants over 600 events, including three major championships.

“Now that we’ve established ourselves as a leader in junior golf programs, we have been looking to align ourselves with companies & sponsors who are as passionate about the game as we are,” said Ray Taranto, President of The Junior Tour. “In SwingU, we’ve found not only a passionate & dependable sponsor, but one who we believe will help many of our players reach the next level.”

The SwingU team will be present at the Winter National Championship in Destin, Fla. to assist and answer questions from players, coaches and parents about the SwingU app.
