LINCOLN, Nebraska – Sutton Bay in Agar, South Dakota – operated by Landscapes Golf Management – ranks No. 55 among Golfweek’s recently-released “Top 200 Modern Courses” in the U.S.
Additionally impressive, Sutton Bay is among the top 35 private clubs on the list, rose 10 spots over its 2021 placement and grades higher than courses’ hosting major, PGA and LPGA TOUR tournaments. Private, daily-fee, resort, community, university, and casino courses must be built in or after 1960 to be eligible.
The rankings – tallied by hundreds of Golfweek raters – scores overall strength of routing, feature shaping, natural settings, greens, the variety and remarkable nature of holes, conditioning and maintenance, landscape management and other criteria. Thousands of modern courses were considered for the “best-of” list.
