KOHALA COAST, Hawai’i – Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection further cemented its status as Hawaii’s premier golf destination as both of its championship courses earned top honors in GolfPass’ Top 25 Public Golf Courses in Hawaii – Golfers’ Choice 2025 rankings.
Mauna Lani’s South Course was crowned the No. 1 public golf course in Hawai’i, while Mauna Lani’s North Course ranked No. 2.
More than 1,900 reviews by everyday golfers were used to determine the annual Golfers’ Choice rankings with GolfPass’ Ratings Index logic to weigh recent reviews and course subcategory averages. The recognition of both Mauna Lani courses at the top of the list highlights the resort’s exceptional course designs, breathtaking oceanfront scenery, and world-class playing conditions.

Mauna Lani’s North Course, a Flint, Cain and Nelson design, was built on an ancient lava bed. Overlaying the rugged brown pahoehoe lava flow, the North Course features rolling fairways and through kiawe forests. A 230-acre protected archeological district lies on the northern edge of the North Course, while feral goats roam the course, cropping the grass and providing a unique neutral hazard. The par-3 17th is the signature hole on the North Course as a series of elevated tees form a natural amphitheater with the green at the base of a lava bowl.
“Achieving both the number one and two rankings in Golfers’ Choice 2025 is an incredible honor,” said Ross Birch, General Manager of Mauna Lani Golf. “These accolades reflect the dedication of our team, the beauty of our courses, and the unforgettable experiences we create for every golfer who visits Mauna Lani.”
