ORLANDO (Sept. 25, 2020) – The Orlando World Center Marriott not only features 2,010 guestrooms and suites, 450,000 square feet of meeting space, The Falls Pool Oasis with three waterslides, nine restaurants and lounges, but also a newly constructed island green.

Originally designed by Joe Lee in 1986 and then revamped by golf course architect Bobby Cupp, Jr. in 1998, Hawk’s Landing is popular with hotel guests and a favorite of local golfers.  Well known for its pristine playing conditions, fast greens, and challenging water features on 15 of the 18 holes, Hawk’s Landing also offers a full-service golf academy where golfers of all skill levels can hone their games.

In conjunction with a resort expansion project, Hawk’s Landing and Marriott Golf brought Bobby Cupp, Jr. back to oversee the re-design.  Three holes were completely rebuilt, including the signature finishing hole No. 18, which is now a 204-yard, par-3 island green.

These new renovations are a culmination of a multi-year improvement plan, which included a complete bunker renovation with capillary concrete liners, and a conversion of all putting greens to Diamond Zoysiagrass, which receive rave reviews for speed and consistency.

Hawk’s Landing is now open for those ready to take on the new island green.

“The new 18th hole will be a very memorable highlight, and challenge all players to hit their best shot to finish their day on the course,” said Chris Jones, PGA Director of Golf at Hawk’s Landing Golf Club.

The Orlando World Center Marriott offers special packages including stay and play as well as golf schools.  Hawk’s Landing is open to resort play, groups, and local golfers, offering annual membership programs with a variety of resort and golf benefits.  For more information, please contact Chris Jones at 1-800-567-2623 or chris.k.jones@marriott.com
