SAN JOSE, Calif. (Feb. 10, 2019) – Acclaimed golf coach John Geiberger has joined the staff of Garmany Golf, one of the world’s leading travel and hospitality companies.

Geiberger, named the 1997 National Collegiate Coach of the Year, will serve as Garmany Golf’s Director of Collegiate Golf and International Experiences, focusing on creating travel experiences for college golf teams, boosters and alumni, as well as developing fundraising opportunities.

Garmany Golf specializes in creating unforgettable global golf and travel all around the world. Garmany Golf’s knowledgeable concierge team handle every detail to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience for each guest from the United States to locations including Europe, New Zealand, and South Africa.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Garmany Golf to be able to help collegiate golf programs and their boosters have incredible experiences around the world,” said Bud Garmany, President of Garmany Golf. “John’s experience as a leader in college golf will be instrumental in our quest to create these experiences for collegiate golf programs throughout the country.”

A native of Santa Barbara, Geiberger served as men’s golf coach at Pepperdine University from 1996 to 2012. A five-time West Coast Conference Coach of the Year, his Pepperdine teams captured the 1997 NCAA Championship and 10 conference titles, including seven in a row from 1999-2005. Geiberger coached 14 All-Americans and 10 Academic All-Americans.

An all-conference golfer at Pepperdine (class of 1991), Geiberger then caddied for his father, Al, on the PGA Champions Tour from 1991-96, notching seven wins together before starting his college coaching career. Geiberger remains an active member of the Golf Coaches Association of America and serves as boys golf coach at the prestigious Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, Calif., home to a thriving student body that excels in academics, arts and athletics.

“Garmany Golf will be able to expand the horizons of college golf, in global travel as well as with significant fundraising concepts,” said Geiberger, who lives in Malibu. “I expect Garmany Golf to become an exceptional partner with college golf programs nationwide.”
