Larger facility in Carlsbad, California accommodates advancements in research and development as well as growth in personnel and greater warehouse capacity

Fujikura Composites America has marked another chapter in its journey by moving into its new state-of-the-art headquarters in Carlsbad, California. The significantly larger workspace for all aspects of the business will allow the industry leaders in composite shaft innovation to better serve its customers around the globe.

Fujikura has been at the forefront of design and development to produce the ‘World’s Best Performance Shafts’ for the last three decades. Through various product iterations and advancements, the company has earned the trust of golfers at every level, from club players to the world’s best.

The new headquarters offer more space dedicated to research and development, with a new upgraded generation of enso® – Fujikura’s proprietary motion capture technology system – continuing to provide an incredibly detailed analysis of how a shaft performs, measuring the forces that various players and speeds put on a shaft at any point during the swing.

But where there is innovation, there is also greater productivity, and at the heart of the facility sits a new, extended warehouse – which is almost double the size of the previous space. This will give Fujikura the capacity to receive and ship larger quantities of stock more efficiently.

David Schnider, President & CEO at Fujikura, said: “Our operations have grown considerably over the last several years. We are still in Carlsbad, the epicenter of the golf industry, but our new facility will give us the tools to expedite turnaround time and better react to the demands of our customers and golfers who put their faith in Fujikura products.

“This will be the fourth time that we have moved since the inception of Fujikura in America in 1994 – and is yet another milestone for our company. The move is testament to the work by the incredible people we have and the company’s mission to keep exploring new ways of making golf more enjoyable.

“From the earliest days of our journey to the latest in shaft technology, Fujikura has always looked to push the limits of what’s possible in golf. Innovation and game-changing technologies have underpinned our success to date, and the latest move to our new facility will help our talented team continue to break new ground.”

The majority of Fujikura prototype shafts continue to be built in Carlsbad, and a larger, more state-of-the-art R&D lab will allow the company to build on the development of these.

The new headquarters also feature two hitting bays, one of which is purely dedicated to R&D and Tour fittings. Utilizing Trackman iO, next generation enso® with new upgraded cameras, new software and a new force plate system, the studio will allow Fujikura engineers and technicians to capture more holistic data about the golfer, their swing, and the impact the shaft can have. With a plethora of data available, this level of technology and detail ensures Fujikura remains the industry leader in golf shaft innovation for all players and swing types.

Daniel Jacobs, Director of Engineering at Fujikura, said: “Innovation lies at the heart of our success as a brand, and we are always looking at ways to improve in this area.

“Our new enso® bay will allow us to fully focus our efforts on R&D. The new biomechanic force plates are fully integrated with our next generation enso® 3D motion capture system. New, upgraded cameras that will surround the golfer with better resolution enabling us to place more markers on the shaft to ensure our capture process is more consistent for both right and left-handed golfers.

“All these upgrades will increase visibility to what the shaft is doing throughout the swing, and will help us understand how the golfer reacts to different shafts via ground reaction forces.”

The introduction of enso® technology in 2010 revolutionized shaft design with cutting-edge 3D motion capture and analytics, furthering Fujikura’s leadership in engineering, leading to the introduction of its VENTUS line with VeloCore technology in 2019, which set a new standard for speed and stability in performance wood shafts. In 2026, the brand’s vision to continuously improve has seen even more technology added to the VENTUS family with the launches of the acclaimed VENTUS TR Red, TR Blue and TR Black – all built with enhanced VeloCore+ technology.

Jeremy Butler, Vice President of Operations at Fujikura, said: “Our new facility is considerably larger than our previous headquarters, with over 30% more square footage. The majority of that new space is utilized warehouse and employee office areas; our warehouse has nearly doubled in size and has allowed us to be much more productive and efficient each day in shipping shaft orders. We are able to increase our available inventory stock to continue to support our dealer network.

“Having more office space brings with it a better environment for our valued staff, with open areas for increased collaboration and comfort. We also have more office space available for the future expansion of our teams.”
