Dye’s Celebrated ‘Teeth of the Dog’ Ranked No. 7 in ‘Top 100 Courses You Can Play’

LA ROMANA, Dominican Republic (May 23, 2021) – Casa de Campo Resort & Villas – home to the Caribbean’s premier luxury golf experiences – announces its Pete Dye-designed masterpiece, Teeth of the Dog, is ranked No. 7 in GOLF Magazine’s “Top 100 Courses You Can Play.”

In addition to the U.S., layouts from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean were included on the prestigious list for the first time. As the highest ranked course in the Caribbean, iconic Teeth of the Dog joins Pebble Beach, Pinehurst No. 2, Pacific Dunes, Cabot Cliffs, Bethpage Black and The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in the top seven.

This distinction follows Casa de Campo receiving Golf Digest’s prominent 2021 “Editors’ Choice Award” in the “Best Resorts in the Americas” (Caribbean / Bermuda category) in March recognizing the “best of the best” in the golf industry.

Teeth of the Dog has long been a “bucket list” layout for those seeking to play one of the world’s top golf courses. Dye’s design hallmarks are all present: railroad ties, vast waste areas, peninsula greens and tees, hand-sculpted putting surfaces, and a unique assortment of pot bunkers. “The Heaven 7” oceanfront holes are astoundingly beautiful, causing Dye to famously quip: “I created 11 holes, and God created seven.”

“This accolade from GOLF Magazine is a wonderful tribute for both the genius of Pete Dye as well as the incredible golf amenities we offer our guests at Casa de Campo,” says Jason Kycek, senior vice-president of sales and marketing. “In addition to Teeth of the Dog, we showcase two additional Pete Dye gems, Dye Fore and The Links, for an array of golf courses few destinations can match.”
The resort’s new world-class Golf Learning Center is a also “must visit” when on property. Highlighted by Trackman and BODITRAK technology, it features two indoor hitting bays for rapid game improvement, year-round training, individual and group golf lessons and schools, and expert club-fitting and repair. Residing on 21 acres of “pure grass,” the PGA Tour-quality facility also showcases practice greens for honing putting, chipping, and pitching games as well as unlimited use of the pristine outdoor range for full shots. On-course instruction is also available.
In the aftermath of the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the resort initiated its new “Casa Cares” program touching virtually every area of the property including significant investment in new equipment and employee training. The robust health and safety practices will continue to remain a top priority extend to updated procedures for its golf courses as well.

Casa de Campo additionally offers a COVID testing center at the resort if documentation is needed for return travel.
A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, 7,000-acre Casa de Campo attracts affluent travelers with 63 holes of exceptional golf.
