Indiana University Alumni Association kicks off tailgate season this Saturday

PASADENA, California – Brookside Golf Club at the Rose Bowl will host a series of tailgate parties for the alumni associations of visiting Big Ten universities throughout the college football season.

The first tailgate will take place this Saturday, Sept. 14 from 1-4 p.m. for the Indiana University Alumni Association. The Hoosiers last visited the Rose Bowl in 1968 and will take on the UCLA Bruins at 4:30 p.m. PST.

The tailgate parties are open to members of the visiting university’s alumni association only and will take place on Brookside Golf Club’s driving range, with food, beverage and live entertainment, including DJs and school bands, included.

The Club’s driving range can accommodate up to 3,000 guests and will be decorated in the colors of the visiting university. Future alumni association tailgate parties will include:

  • University of Oregon Ducks on Sept. 28
  • University of Minnesota Golden Gophers on Oct. 12
  • University of Iowa Hawkeyes on Nov. 8

Located adjacent to the world-famous Rose Bowl Stadium in the shadows of the San Gabriel Mountains, Brookside Golf Club is owned by the City of Pasadena and features two of the best daily-fee layouts in Southern California – the C.W. Koiner Golf Course and the E.O. Nay Golf Course.

Designed by famed golf architect William P. Bell, the 36-hole complex is the oldest golf course in Los Angeles County dating back 95-plus years. Brookside’s C.W. Koiner Golf Course No. 1 is a 7,104-yard, par-72 layout, while the E.O. Nay Golf Course No. 2 plays 6,025-yards and to a par of 70.

Both courses have Bermuda grass fairways, Poanna grass greens and are lined with eucalyptus, pine and oak trees. On game days at the neighboring Rose Bowl Stadium, fairways are used for fan parking.

The Brookside Golf Club Restaurant is open daily (including on game days) to the public for breakfast, lunch and dinner and features panoramic views of the golf courses and surrounding San Gabriel Mountains. The menu includes house-made burgers, flat breads, sandwiches & salads.

In addition to the driving range, Brookside Golf Club offers a variety of event spaces for weddings, meetings and parties, including the 300-seat Mediterranean Ballroom and patio, the 60-seat Arroyo Ballroom and the 30-seat Rose Room.
