YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A new Ohio State-Michigan faceoff will move from the field to the fairway for the inaugural Big Game Rivalry Shootout, Aug. 30-31, when Buckeyes and Wolverines will compete and stand together for a cause greater than the rivalry itself.

The Big Game Rivalry Shootout will pair legendary alumni and celebrities from both storied athletic programs with foursomes of fans for two days of competition, camaraderie, and charity at The Lake Club in Youngstown, Ohio.

The event will raise money for Beyond the Goal Line and The Football Alumni of Michigan, two charities that provide financial and other support to alumni football players in time of need.

Gus Johnson, the play-by-play voice of college football and basketball on Fox Sports, will serve as host and on-course announcer for the weekend. NFL head coach and broadcaster Jon Gruden will be among the celebrities on hand all weekend engaging with those participating in the event. Ed Maransky, owner of the Lake Club, Michigan football alum and Super Bowl champion with the Los Angeles Raiders, serves as the event Chairman.

Two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin and Super Bowl-winning coach will anchor Team Scarlet & Gray, while NFL standout Amani Toomer and Super Bowl champion Mario Manningham lead Team Maize & Blue.

Other alumni who will be in attendance (subject to change) include Keith Byars, Mike Doss, Ted Ginn Jr., Troy Smith, Robert Smith, Cardale Jones, Beanie Wells, Maurice Clarett, Tom Cousineau, Jim Lachey, Mike Tomczak, Katie Smith and others from Ohio State; and Brian Griese, Anthony Carter, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Chris Wormley, Jarrett Irons, Chase Winovich, Butch Woolfolk, Tim McCormick, Carol Hutchins, Dwight Hicks, Brandon Graham and others from Michigan.

Additional participants and special guests are being added to both rosters and will be posted at www.thebiggameshootout.com.

The tournament will be played in a two-team scramble format, with 15 foursomes each supporting Ohio State and Michigan, and every foursome paired with one of the event’s celebrity participants. Foursome registration and sponsorship information are available at www.thebiggameshootout.com.
