After Retiring from the LPGA Tour in 2023, Wie West Returning to Competition

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida – TMRW Sports announced the addition of Michelle Wie West to WTGL, anew team golf platform in partnership with the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) launching in the winter 2026-27.

Wie West will be coming out of retirement after exiting professional golf in 2023 with a career that included five LPGA Tour wins, including the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open at the iconic Pinehurst No. 2 course.

“As an investor in Los Angeles Golf Club and a fan of TGL, I’m excited for the chance to compete again through WTGL, which will be a powerful platform for women’s golf,” said Wie West. “I’m passionate about growing the game, and TGL has proved how new formats through the lens of innovation and creativity can bring golf to a broader audience.

“The team aspect, matched with the unique environment at SoFi Center, is something I want to be part of and it’s going to beincredibly fun to challenge myself, this time alongside teammates, to compete against the best in the world.”

The current roster of eight WTGL committed players has won a combined 66 times on the LPGA Tour, including seven major championships, and also features Jeeno Thitikul (Thailand, No. 1), Charley Hull (England, No. 3), Lydia Ko (New Zealand, No. 6, three-time major champion), Lottie Woad (England, No. 8), Brooke Henderson (Canada, No. 18, two-time major champion), Rose Zhang (United States, No. 65), and Lexi Thompson (United States, No. 83, major champion).

Michelle Wie West (USA, major champion):

  • Five-time LPGA Tour winner, including the S. Women’s Open (2014)
  • Five-time United States Solheim Cup team member (2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017)
  • Represented the United States in the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown (2018)
  • Represented the United States in the Curtis Cup (2004)
  • Mizuho Americas Open tournament host
  • Limited partner of Los Angeles Golf Club ownership group

Preparing for a launch in winter 2026-27, WTGL will feature a season of fast-paced, team match play from the custom-built SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. As a showcase for the skill, personalities and team spirit of the participating LPGA stars, WTGL will build upon the foundation of TGL presented by SoFi, which was described as a“high-energy arena spectacle” by Vanity Fair, “pure entertainment” by GQ, and “golf’s boldest new venture” by Fast Company.

In addition to featuring foundational elements of TGL like mic’d-up moments, risk-reward team decisions and throwing the Hammer, WTGL will provide the same tech-driven platform with comprehensive shot performance data and statistics-based analytics built seamlessly into the competition.

With Alex Morgan’s Trybe Ventures as the lead capital partner, WTGL is TMRW Sports’ second project and has one confirmed team ownership group: Arthur M. Blank and AMB Sports and Entertainment.

Additional details on WTGL will be announced in the coming months – to stay informed, visit WTGLGolf.com.
