SAN DIEGO, California  — Future Champions Golf, one of the world’s fastest-growing and most internationally diverse junior golf tours, is excited to announce the launch of the FCG Japan Tournament Series, officially beginning January 2026 and running through May 2026.

This new series expands FCG’s global footprint and offers junior golfers across Japan a premier pathway into the top junior golf championships in the world.

The 2026 FCG Japan Tournament Series will feature five total events, with one event held each month from January through May. The season will culminate with the FCG City Japan Championship, serving as both the Tour Championship and the signature event of the series—continuing the tradition established in 2025.

A major highlight of the new series is the introduction of the FCG Japan Order of Merit, where players will accumulate points throughout all five events. At the conclusion of the FCG City Japan Championship, the top performers on the Order of Merit will earn qualification into the prestigious 2026 FCG Callaway World Junior Golf Championship, one of the most globally recognized annual junior golf events.

Last year, the championship welcomed over 850 players from more than 40 countries.

The Japan Tournament Series is the start of FCG’s commitment to not only Japanese players and players throughout Asia, but also to the U.S. College coaches, giving them the opportunity to see these young golfers as they showcase their talent and skills.

“Japan continues to be one of the most influential golf cultures in the world, and the passion and discipline of young Japanese golfers is remarkable,” said Chris Smeal, Founder & President of Future Champions Golf. “With this new five-event tournament series, we are creating a clear and competitive pathway for Japanese players to earn their way into our biggest global stages through consistent performance. We can’t wait to see this series grow year after year.”

The series will feature professionally operated events designed to mirror the competitive standards of FCG’s marquee tournaments in the United States, including advanced scoring, premier course setups, and a world-class tournament experience.

Key Features of the 2026 FCG Japan Tournament Series:

  • Five total events spanning January–May 2026
  • One event per month, concluding with the FCG City Japan Championship
  • Order of Merit qualification system for the 2026 FCG Callaway World Junior Golf Championship
  • Professional FCG-standard operations, scoring, and course setups
  • Expanded opportunities for Japanese players to compete internationally
  • Integration with FCG’s global ranking and qualifier systems across 40+ countries

Full schedule announcements, venue details, and registration information will be released soon on FutureChampionsGolf.com and across official FCG social media channels.

“FCG is committed to becoming the most accessible and globally connected junior golf tour,” added Smeal. “The Japan Tournament Series is a major step toward that vision.”
