CARMEL, California – Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Santa Lucia Mountains, The Preserve Golf Club—an acclaimed Tom Fazio-designed masterpiece—will host two marquee amateur golf tournaments this October, drawing top talent from around the country.

From Oct. 16–18, the 33rd Stocker Cup returns to The Preserve, continuing its tradition of celebrating the legacy of Peter Stocker, a visionary real estate developer and founding partner of The Santa Lucia Preserve. Now a cornerstone of the amateur golf calendar, the event welcomes a distinguished field once again, including defending Stocker Cup champion and 2023 Wisconsin State Amateur champion Jack Schultz.

This 54-hole, stroke-play tournament will be contested alongside a best-ball competition modeled after the iconic AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Each of the 56 invited mid-amateurs will be paired with a low-handicap amateur partner, either selected by the tournament committee or invited at the player’s request.  Additional information and past results are available at StockerCup.com.

Later in the month, from Oct. 27–28, The Preserve Golf Club will host the Preserve Golf Club Collegiate. Organized in partnership with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, this elite event brings together 12 top West Coast collegiate programs, including Cal Poly, Oregon, UC Berkeley, and the University of San Diego.

Teams will compete in a 54-hole format, with five players per team and the best four scores counting toward each round. Competition kicks off with 36 holes on Monday, October 27, followed by 18 holes on Tuesday, October 28. Full tournament details are available at thepreservegolfclubcollegiate.com.

“We are honored to host both of these prestigious events at The Preserve Golf Club,” said Riley Ramones, Head Golf Professional. “The course is in exceptional condition and will put some of the game’s finest amateur and collegiate players to the test.”

Sponsors of the event include Hope& Grace, Firestone Grill, Monterey Peninsula Foundation, Nichols Farm, Malbon, Cal Poly Partners, and PRG Golf.

Tucked within the 20,000-acre expanse of The Santa Lucia Preserve, The Preserve Golf Club is part of an ultra-private residential community of fewer than 300 homesites. The course, carved seamlessly into the natural terrain, features Fazio’s signature artistry—towering oaks, sweeping meadows, rugged ridgelines, and meandering streams—creating a strategic and visually stunning golf experience.

Located just minutes from Carmel-by-the-Sea, The Preserve offers members and residents unparalleled access to outdoor recreation and a way of life centered on conservation, community, and a deep connection to nature.
