Hornstein earns three gold medals in European Photography Awards

GREENSBORO, Georgia – For his photography of Reynolds Lake Oconee’s Richland Course, Bill Hornstein has earned three “Gold Medal” honors at the 2025 European Photography Awards.

The European Photography Awards, presented by the International Awards Associate (IAA), singled out Hornstein with gold medals in three different “Commercial Photography” categories: Luxury, Advertising, and Environmental.

Open to photographers across all backgrounds and experience levels, the competition recognizes outstanding photographs displaying both technical excellence and creative vision. For 2025, there were more than 2,000 submissions representing 30 countries.

The Richland layout, which opened in 2024 and is the newest golf course at Reynolds Lake Oconee, is especially attractive from a photography standpoint as it meanders through rolling meadows and the 500-acre Richland Pointe community.

Earlier this year, Richland — Reynolds Lake Oconee’s second fully private course — received an Honorable Mention in the 2025 Development of the Year competition. The honor led to the Tom Fazio-designed layout being featured in the May-June issue of Golf Inc. Magazine, with Hornstein’s stunning images accompanying the story.

During his career, Hornstein has created award-winning TV, magazine, billboard and Internet campaigns for his clients, and has had his golf photos appear in Golf Digest, GOLF Magazine, The Golfer’s Journal, USGA’s The Golf Journal, Caddie Magazine, and Sports Illustrated.

For Hornstein, the medals from the European Photography Awards competition serve to cement his impressions of his occupation. “The worst day of golf photography,” he says, “beats the best day of work.”
