Environmental Institute for Golf program has raised more than $1.7 million since 2012.

LAWRENCE, Kansas (April 21, 2021)  — Rounds 4 Research kicks off its online auction April 26-May 2 with more than 900 rounds of golf (each round includes two or four players) at courses in 45 states plus the Cayman Islands and Costa Rica.

To preview rounds and to bid when the auction opens, visit www.biddingforgood.com/rounds4research.

Rounds 4 Research is a venture of the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). It is presented in partnership with The Toro Co. Funds generated from the auction support research-related activities of GCSAA and its affiliated chapters.

Since launching in 2012, Rounds 4 Research has raised more than $1.7 million for turfgrass research, education and advocacy programs. Even during the pandemic, the 2020 auction raised over $263,000. Funds raised by the EIFG also help support GCSAA’s national research program.

“With the popularity of golf surging in the last year, Rounds 4 Research offers golfers a chance to play a round at a notable golf course or a local favorite, while funding turfgrass research that supports the future of the game,” said Rhett Evans, chief executive officer of GCSAA. “We are grateful to all the facilities and golf management companies that have contributed to the 2021 Rounds 4 Research auction.”

Some of the high-profile facilities that have donated rounds for the auction include Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, S.C., French Lick (Ind.) Resort; Ohoopee Match Club in Cobbtown, Ga.; Sanctuary in Sedalia, Colo.; Kiawah Island (S.C.) Golf Resort; Sutton Bay in Agar, S.D., Nanea Golf Club in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; and Sand Valley in Nekoosa. Wis.

Several management companies also have joined the effort to support research, including American Golf, ClubCorp, Dormie Network, Founders Group International, Indigo Golf, Marriott Golf, the PGA Tour TPC network of courses and Troon Golf.
