The Cabot Collection has unveiled the first look at the new course it’s adding to its recently acquired Cabots Highlands property in Inverness, Scotland.

The new 18-hole course, designed by renowned golf course architect Tom Doak, will be called Old Petty, in homage to the Old Petty Church, built in 1839, which borders the course. Doak’s design is meant to honor the history of Inverness and the course routing, which runs along a tidal estuary, brings golfers close to the 400-year-old Castle Stuart.

The new logo for the course continues the Scottish tradition by featuring the likeness of a highland cow, or “hairy coo” in the local parlance.

The course will open in 2025 for preview and will be accompanied by the opening of an extended 11,000-square-foot clubhouse with a whisky and cigar bar, clubhouse grill bar and chophouse restaurant.

The existing course, Castle Stuart Golf Links, is open for play and features onsite lodging for visitors to stay and enjoy the Scottish landscape.

Cabot Highlands just began its 2024 season on April 1 and features touches such as traditional Scottish shortbread cookies on the first tee and signature Cabot couches behind hole 18, as well as dining at the art-deco themed clubhouse.
