RIDGEFIELD, Connecticut – Junior Golf Hub (JGH) – the leading online community for junior golfers, their parents and college coaches – announces the winners of the 2021 Hub Cup, its annual flagship competition where JGH members compete against each other for Collegiate Level Scholarship prizes. The top five finishers on the boys and girls leaderboards will receive scholarship awards that will support their journey to collegiate golf.

The winners are as follows:

Girls

1)      Anna Davis – Spring Valley, CA

2)      Elise Lee – Irvine, CA

3)      Irene Kim – Woodstock, MD

4)      Amelie Phung – Forest Hills, NY

5)      Krystal (Zhoutong) Li – Richmond Hill, ON

2)      Charlie Palmer – Paradise Valley, AZ

3)      Charlie Fischer – Orchard Park, NY

Standings are dictated primarily by tournament scoring average on a rolling 52-week cycle, with additional criteria necessary to be eligible, such as submission of an essay about why golf is special to them and completion of a PDI Self-Assessment within the competition year.

Golfers also must be current JGH members opted in to be searchable, between age 14-18, and compete in a minimum of five verified 18-hole rounds and one verified, two-round, 36-hole event.

“The Hub Cup acts as a conduit to our ultimate goal of providing more opportunities to more people who have the goal of playing college golf,” says JGH Founder, Roger Knick. “These scholarships will help break down any barriers standing in the way.”

Prizes are awarded in the form of a Collegiate Level Scholarship, will comply with the rules of maintaining Amateur Status and all monies received will be paid directly to the educational institution of the winner’s choice. In the case a winner is not eligible to attend a college or university, the scholarship award will be held in escrow in their name until such time the winner enters a college or university.

At just $129 per year, all members have full access to the platform which helps connect recruits with college golf coaches through tailored, searchable online profiles. Player pages present to coaches their athletic measurables such as verified tournament scores, swing speed, tournament schedules and academic information such as GPA, test scores and academic honors.

A membership to JGH, which also tracks a player’s growth and development as they move through their junior golf journey, is not only a beneficial tool for burgeoning young golfers, but it also hosts an invaluable suite of resources and education that supports parents throughout the complicated process of recruiting.

Outside of the A.I.-powered College Match, JGH has a “Find a College” function with filters that narrow down results based on the program’s scoring average, acceptable test scores, tuition, majors offered, size of enrollment and more. College golf hopefuls are instantly notified via JGH mobile app or desktop portal when a collegiate program starts following them.

To date, nearly 10,000 athletes have created a profile on JGH, while more than 1,000 members have gone on to play golf at an NCAA DI, DII, DIII or NAIA school. The current collegiate database consists of 2,300 men’s and women’s golf programs.
