FRISCO, Texas – THE PRO, a new competitive golf tournament series that brings together professional athletes from the four major sports leagues, announced THE PRO FTB, the first tournament of the 2025 season, will be held at PGA Frisco from March 21-23.

Active and former professional football players will compete in a three-day modified Stableford format contested at PGA Frisco.

The field will feature 54 gridiron golfers, including Hall of Famers Tim Brown, Eric Dickerson, Marshall Faulk, Dwight Freeney and Brian Urlacher, as they square off against one another in a new arena.

“Frisco is excited and honored to be the first-ever host of THE PRO FTB at PGA Frisco,” said Josh Dill, Assistant Executive Director of Visit Frisco, the official partner of THE PRO FTB. “Frisco is a community with a high concentration of professional athletes who live, play and invest in our community. We look forward to working closely with ETZEL and THE PRO to create a can’t-miss experience for the players and fans.”

In addition to Brown, Dickerson, Faulk, Freeney and Urlacher, the first group of committed players for THE PRO FTB include Patrick Peterson, Kordell Stewart, David Binn, Terrell Buckley, Brice Butler, Joshua Dobbs, Eric Ebron, Kyle Fuller, Jermaine Kearse, Fred McCrary, Jason Myers, Andre Roberts, Josh Scobee, Ryan Succop and Bryan Walters.

The announced prize purse for THE PRO FTB is $400,000, and there is no cut for the 54-man tournament.

THE PRO FTB comes on the heels of the successful launch of THE PRO CUP, the inaugural event for THE PRO and a team match play competition hosted at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Fla., in December. Four teams of 12 players from the worlds of baseball, basketball, football and hockey competed in a Ryder Cup-style match play event at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course between Dec. 12-14, where Team BSB prevailed to win THE PRO CUP.

THE PRO events mirror other professional golf events with two early week practice rounds, a Pro-Am that pairs four amateur players with one professional athlete, and three days of tournament competition.

“Professional athletes of this caliber are never done competing,” said THE PRO General Manager Nick Clark. “THE PRO taps into the relentless competitive drive of professional athletes and gives them an opportunity to compete at a high level in a new arena. We’re bringing some of the top athletes in the world to America’s biggest sports cities to deliver a compelling golf experience for players and fans, while making a positive impact in local communities by showcasing the transformative impacts of sports.”

Three additional events will round out the full 2025 tournament schedule. THE PRO HKY will be held in July 2025, THE PRO BKB will be hosted in August 2025 and THE PRO BSB is slated for December 2025. The second installment of THE PRO CUP is also planned for Winter 2025. Exact dates and tournament sites will be announced later this year.
