Expanded putting green, new turf included as part of comprehensive reinvestment efforts

AUSTIN, Texas – Invited, the worldwide leader in private clubs and formerly known as ClubCorp, is pleased to announce that a series of comprehensive renovations are underway at the Live Oak Golf Course at The Hills Country Club.

These efforts are part of an ongoing reinvestment project at the club focused on creating a refined yet inviting environment that best serves today’s members.

The Hills is one of several properties identified by Invited to be included in its multi-year, multi-million-dollar reinvestment strategy aimed at enhancing the company’s diverse portfolio of clubs. Work at The Hills began in 2021 with a renovation project at The Signature Course at the club, as well as the opening of The Chophouse, a new, elevated dining experience in 2023.

Live Oak is currently in the midst of a significant renovation that includes the laser leveling of all its tees, as well as the introduction of TifTuf Bermuda turf to regrass the areas around the greens tying into the TifTuf fairways that were completed a few years ago. Additionally, the practice putting green will be expanded from 5,000 to 8,500 square feet and refitted with championship Bermuda grass.

“The Hills Country Club boasts some of the most beautiful, yet challenging golf courses in Texas, and our reinvestment efforts at Live Oak will only add to that test,” said John Woodeshick, Senior Vice President and General Manager at The Hills Country Club. “The work we’re putting in now will enhance the playing experience for members and their guests, offering a one-of-a-kind, distinctly Texas experience for beginners and seasoned golfers alike.”

The HIlls features four prestigious golf courses – The Signature Course, Flintrock Falls, Yaupon and Live Oak. Combined, they host several active men’s and women’s golf associations and feature a pair of premier driving ranges and 72 holes of outstanding championship Texas golf, including 36 holes designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus.

In addition to The Hills, Invited also owns and operates Westlake Country Club in the Austin area. Westlake is in the middle of its own multi-year reinvestment project that has already seen the golf course, its bar, its pool deck and racquet sports area updated. The renovation of the Sports Club is underway and should be completed by the beginning of summer, while work on the Main Clubhouse is set to begin in October.
