Nebraska course begins work on 12,000 sq ft private green for stay and play guests

HOMER, Nebraska – The Landmand course in northeastern Nebraska has closed for 2025, the course’s third full season of operation. And, according to general manager Adam Fletcher, it has been one heck of a year.

“The highlight of this year, not unlike last, was that our tee sheet was full all season, and we had next to no unfilled nights in our cabins,” he says. “We very much enjoyed hosting the Nebraska Senior Men’s Amateur championship in June, which saw a bunch of very talented golfers playing the course, many for the first time, and we congratulate Randy Christiansen, who was the winner.

“Our Farmer’s Table food truck introduced a new menu this year, and we had several options that broke through the 1,000 items sold barrier.”

Fletcher says that the course’s stay and play cabins, situated in a picturesque valley below the golf course, will have a new amenity next year.

“We have broken ground on a 12,000 square foot private putting and chipping green for the cabins,” he explains. “If the weather cooperates, we should have it completed by the end of fall, and our hope is to have it grown in and ready for opening by the time our 2026 season starts on May 16 next year.”

But he says that the single best memory he will take from 2025 is the smiling faces of golfers who have enjoyed their round at Landmand.

“That will never get old,” he says. “Even with record rainfall this year, and some days that were really windy, our guests embraced the Landmand experience, however wild, and embrace the conditions as a badge of honor. Our total number of cancellations due to weather was about 260 golfers. That’s not bad for a whole season.”

As usual, Landmand’s tee time inventory for the coming season will go on sale via its website, landmandgc.com, at 8 a.m. CST on New Year’s Eve. Would-be visitors are advised to get ready for that day.
