BLUFFTON, South Carolina – Sun City Hilton Head in Bluffton, South Carolina recently began a six-month renovation project on its Okatie Creek Golf Course. XGD Systems and TDI golf course construction company are the contractors on the project, which is focused on enhancing turf conditions and playability of the 6,719-yard, par-72 golf course.
The project is anticipated to be completed, and the course reopened by Oct. 1, 2025.

New drainage systems will be added in all fairways to provide for improved turf health and more consistent playing conditions.
The Club’s practice facility will also be renovated and increase in size by 50 percent. When complete, the updated practice facility will have an expanded practice tee to accommodate up to 50 hitting stations and an all-new short game area with a dedicated putting green, chipping green, and bunker practice green.
“With the continued expansion of the Sun City Hilton Head community, our Okatie Creek facility will be a beautiful product for our existing and future homeowners to enjoy,” said Sun City Hilton Head Director of Golf Charlie Kent.
Sun City Hilton Head is home to three 18-hole golf courses – the executive-length Argent Lakes Golf Course; the casual and fun-to-play Okatie Creek Golf Course; and the crown jewel of Sun City Hilton Head, Hidden Cypress Golf Course. All three courses are open to public play.
