HOUSTON, Texas (July 23, 2021) – The Spirit Golf Association (SGA) announced recently that Jeff Strong, PGA, has joined the organization as Vice President of PGA Affairs.

Strong, a golf industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience, will oversee SGA’s relationships with PGA Professionals nationwide and grow the impact of SGA’s partnership with the Will Erwin Headache Research Foundation.

“Jeff brings a tremendous track record with him to the Spirit Golf Association, and we’re thrilled to have him on board as we begin our national initiative with the Will Erwin Foundation,” said SGA President Charlie Epps. “Jeff’s business experience and relationships throughout the golf industry will help us expand the reach and impact of our fundraising efforts across all SGA initiatives.”

Prior to joining SGA, Strong was the General Manager at Eagle Pointe Golf Club & Recreation Complex in Mont Belvieu, Texas, for more than 20 years. During that time, he also started his own management company, providing management and consulting services in the golf industry.

He is a Past President of the Southern Texas PGA, where he led the organization’s fundraising and scholarship initiatives. He oversaw the creation of the Southern Texas PGA Foundation Golf Tournament, which has raised over $500,000 for junior golf in the region. He also led the launch the Shawn Stefani Scholarship program, which has provided 24 high school students more than $100,000 in college scholarships.

“I am excited to be working for the Spirit Golf Association and focusing on our partnership with the Will Erwin Foundation,” Strong said. “I have always felt it was important for PGA Professionals to give back to the community, and an organization like the Will Erwin Headache Research Foundation presents an exceptional opportunity to impact many lives with our fundraising efforts.”

Strong has been a Class A PGA Professional since 1996 and was named Golf Professional of the Year and Golf Professional of the Year – Eastern Chapter, four times by the Southern Texas PGA Section. Prior to arriving in Texas, he served as the General Manager or Head Golf Pro at golf courses in Florida, South Carolina and in Germany.

He and his wife of 31 years, Liz, live in Houston and have two daughters.
