GALLOWAY, N.J., – Tournament officials announced today the return of Atlantic City’s kickoff professional sporting event of the summer with new dates and a new name that honors the past while looking ahead to the future.
The ShopRite LPGA powered by Wakefern, entering its 38th year in 2026, will take place May 29-31 at Seaview Hotel and Golf Club in Galloway, N.J., where 144 of the world’s best female professional golfers will compete for a share of the $2 million purse, a $250,000 increase from 2025.
Tickets are now on sale and volunteer registration is now open for the ShopRite LPGA powered by Wakefern at www.ShopRiteLPGA.com.
Wakefern Food Corp., the new presenting sponsor of the championship and the largest retailer-owned supermarket cooperative in the United States, is made up of members who independently own and operate hundreds of supermarkets throughout the Northeast, including all ShopRite supermarkets.
“We’ve long been a supporter and sponsor of this great event and are expanding that commitment now as presenting sponsor to ensure a lasting impact on the community and women’s sports. The ShopRite LPGA powered by Wakefern is the perfect platform for us to do that, and we are excited to continue to expand our partnership in making this premier event even better with new initiatives and new ways to give back and support the athletes and the community in 2026 and beyond,” said Wakefern President Mike Stigers.
Wakefern’s presenting sponsorship replaces Acer, the tournament’s longtime presenting sponsor and supporter for over a decade.
“Wakefern has been instrumental to the success of the ShopRite LPGA and ShopRite’s designation as the longest-running continuous title sponsor on the LPGA Tour,” said Michael Taft, executive director for the ShopRite LPGA powered by Wakefern. “In addition to formally welcoming Wakefern to the name of this great championship, we’d like to thank our friends and former presenting sponsor at Acer, who have been tremendous partners for the past 12 years.
“We would not be where we are today without Acer’s unwavering support over the years.”
