All-star lineup of hockey pros and alumni compete for prize money to benefit Rogers Birdies for Kids
CALGARY, Alberta, Canada — Rogers Legends of Hockey is returning to the Rogers Charity Classic at Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club. On Saturday, Aug. 16, eight NHL and PWHL stars and alumni, along with two Alberta junior golfers, will compete for more than $100,000 for charity.
“Rogers is Canada’s home of hockey, and we’re thrilled to bring some of hockey’s best to the Rogers Charity Classic to further support children and youth across Alberta,” said Terrie Tweddle, Chief Brand and Communications Officer, Rogers.
The hockey legends are teeing off in a closest to the hole, money ball challenge on the 18th green immediately following PGA TOUR Champions play. The competition will consist of three periods plus overtime, with each player taking four shots per period.
Players will be eliminated after each period, resulting in a head-to-head showdown in overtime to decide the champion, who will be awarded $100,000 to donate to a charity from the Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink program.
Each participant will also receive $10,000 to benefit a Canadian charity of their choice.
Competing for the prize are:
- Sarah Fillier, New York Sirens All-Star forward, 2025 PWHL Rookie of the Year, Canadian Olympic gold medallist, and 2024 Rogers Legends of Hockey champion
- Dustin Wolf, Calgary Flames goaltender and Calder Memorial Trophy finalist
- Cassie Campbell-Pascall, two-time Canadian Olympic gold medallist and special advisor to the PWHL
