“We are absolutely shocked and excited,” says owner Andersen

HOMER, Nebraska – The new Landmand golf course in eastern Nebraska has been named as the 14th best public course and the 26th best modern course in America by Golfweek magazine.

Along with Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw’s Sheep Ranch at Bandon Dunes, Landmand is the only course to have opened since 2020 in the top 200 modern courses list.

Landmand, built by King-Collins, the creators of the Sweetens Cove course in Tenneessee (ranked 32nd best public in the same list), opened to the public for the first time last September. Since then, the course has received universal acclaim.

Last October, the course played host to a qualifying round of the USGA Amateur Fourball, and this August, it will be the venue for the Nebraska Mid-Amateur.

“We are absolutely shocked and excited at this news, which we never expected,” says owner Will Andersen. “All through this project, my goal has been to have a course that would be fun and interesting for the local golfers to play. That it has proved to be something much more is down to Rob and Tad and the great people who have built the golf course and operate it.”

“Tad and I were delighted to see Landmand recognized by Golfweek,” says Rob Collins. “It’s a tribute to the Andersens’ vision, the awe inspiring beauty of their land and the hard work of our talented crew to see it recognized as one of the best public and modern courses in America.”
