Game’s future stars play at Reynolds Lake Oconee in March
GREENSBORO, Georgia– The 20th anniversary staging of the Linger Longer Invitational (LLI)—co-hosted by the University of Georgia, Mercer University, and Kennesaw State University—is scheduled for March 19-22 at Great Waters, Reynolds Lake Oconee.
The best and brightest players in men’s college golf will compete over three rounds. The event is open to spectators looking for a preview of the future of the professional game.
Over two decades, many Linger Longer Invitational alumni have ascended to the PGA TOUR ranks, including 2026 Genesis Invitational winner Jacob Bridgeman (Clemson), Justin Thomas (Alabama), Rickie Fowler (Oklahoma State), Scottie Scheffler (Texas), Brooks Koepka (Florida State), Harris English (Georgia), and Nick Dunlap (Alabama).
The University of Alabama’s Cory Whitsett was a three-time Linger Longer individual champion (2011-2013).

The 2026 tournament features individual and team competitions in 54-hole stroke play. Participating colleges include:

  • Elon University
  • Jacksonville University
  • Kennesaw State University
  • Louisiana Tech University
  • Mercer University
  • The Ohio State University
  • Rutgers University
  • University of Alabama
  • University of Georgia
  • University of Kentucky
  • University of North Carolina, Charlotte
  • University of North Carolina, Greensboro
  • University of South Alabama
  • University of South Florida
  • University of West Georgia
  • Wofford College
  • Vanderbilt University
  • Virginia Tech

Great Waters, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design Course, is a dramatic layout that offers some of the most breathtaking golf scenery in the Southeast.  With nine holes lining the shores of Lake Oconee, Great Waters offers both exciting challenges and beautiful views.

Most of the front nine is played through Georgia Pines, while the back nine has eight holes surrounded by Lake Oconee.  This is the 13th time the LLI has been contested on Great Waters.
