Golfers from across the country to meet & compete in Nebraska

HOMER, NE – Landmand Golf Club and 5 Clubs Golf have announced they are collaborating on a new event, The Heartbeat, to be held at Landmand from Aug. 2-5.  The uniqueness of The Heartbeat is that the tournament field will be comprised of 52 two-man teams, one two-man team representing all 50 U.S. States, the District of Columbia and one wild card entry from all teams that register.

“Like any living, breathing thing, Landmand continues to evolve year to year,” said Will Andersen, owner of Landmand.  “We hope, through The Heartbeat, to showcase this natural process as well as the people and community behind it.”

Golfers from across the country can register through Jan. 31 at The Heartbeat.  Both team members must reside in the same state, be at least 21 years of age and have an up-to-date GHIN.  The event and player package will consist of one practice round, three competitive rounds, hotel accommodations, food & beverage, a Player’s Lounge and a gift bag.

Teams will compete for both a net and gross title.  For the final two days of the tournament, 5 Clubs on Golf Channel will air LIVE on property from 7-9 AM CST.

“From the moment we stepped foot on the property for the first time last June we knew we wanted to bring an event and the morning show to Landmand,” said Gary Williams, host of 5 Clubs on Golf Channel.  “Working with Will and his team to put this event on and to showcase what they have built will be an amazing experience for the participants and a great watch for the viewers at home.”

Teams competing in the event will be drawn at random, per state, in early February with a wait list created on a per state basis.  The event logo is based off the club’s iconic windsock which is used on each hole instead of standard flags.
