BREAKTHROUGH GOLF ALLIANCE EMERGES AS CHAMPION FOR YOUNG GOLFERS FACING FINANCIAL BARRIERS

ORLANDO, Florida   — The Breakthrough Golf Alliance, formerly operating as the Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development, recently announced its official launch as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking down financial barriers that prevent talented young golfers from competing at higher levels.

The organization, which separated from the Amateur Athletic Union in late 2024, has refined its mission to focus specifically on providing financial support and opportunities for promising junior golfers who lack the resources to showcase their abilities on larger stages.

“After more than a decade of serving young golfers of all abilities, we recognized a critical gap in the junior golf ecosystem,” said PGA Professional, Brendon Elliott, Executive Director of the Breakthrough Golf Alliance. “Exceptional talent exists everywhere, but financial constraints often determine which players advance to competitive levels. Our mission is to change that equation.”

The Breakthrough Golf Alliance builds upon a strong foundation established since 2010, when it began as the Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development. Throughout its history, the organization has benefited from the support of golf luminaries, including Jack Nicklaus and PGA Championship winner Keegan Bradley, as well as organizations like the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation.

The name change reflects the organization’s evolved purpose—creating breakthroughs for talented young golfers while building an alliance of supporters, mentors, and resources to help them succeed.

“The term ‘Breakthrough’ represents our commitment to dismantling the financial obstacles that stand between promising young athletes and their potential,” explained Elliott. “And ‘Alliance’ embodies our collaborative approach, bringing together industry partners, golf professionals, and philanthropic supporters to create opportunities that wouldn’t otherwise exist.”

The organization will focus on providing tournament sponsorships, travel grants, equipment assistance, and developmental programs for junior golfers who demonstrate both exceptional skill and financial need.

Golf remains one of the most expensive sports for competitive participation, with families often spending between $10,000-$30,000 annually on tournament fees, travel, coaching, and equipment for players competing at high levels. The Breakthrough Golf Alliance aims to address this challenge directly through targeted financial support and mentorship.

The organization plans to announce its first slate of sponsored junior golfers and program initiatives in the coming months.
