SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – The non-profit American Heroes Foundation is dedicated to supporting the health and wellness of veterans and first responders. Founded in 2019 by Tony Miller, a retired USAF veteran, the foundation gives back to those who have selflessly served the American people.

Miller served 22 years in the United States Air Force and later ventured into small business ownership and corporate management. Upon retiring from the workforce, he was inspired to create an organization that could have a significant positive impact on the veteran and first responder communities.

With the support of his wife, Jane, and their friends, the American Heroes Foundation was born.

“The mission of the American Heroes Foundation is deeply rooted in the recognition of the sacrifices made by veterans and first responders,” stated Tony. “While it was clear from the outset that veterans would be a primary focus, we also recognized the importance of including first responders in our mission.

“Many people are aware of the staggering statistics that 20 to 22 veterans die by suicide each day. However, fewer people know that first responder suicides are twice the national average. The American Heroes Foundation works tirelessly to bring attention to these issues and to provide support and resources to those in need.”

The foundation raises funds through its American Heros Golf Tour for PTSD research and treatment, service animal programs, prosthetics, and assistance for homeless veterans and first responders. Funds are generated through membership fees, sponsorships, and tournaments. The tour is open to all golfers, offering a unique and enjoyable way to support the foundation’s mission.

“The American Heroes Golf Tour features 12 to 14 points-based tournaments during the season. The tournaments culminate in a two-day Tour Championship on June 14 and 15, 2025, followed by a two-day Ryder Cup-style challenge on July 19 and 20 between the top veterans and first responders,” continued Miller. “The tour provides a safe atmosphere where people of all walks with like experiences can share stories without judgement and build new relationships.”

The American Heroes Foundation relies on the generosity and support of individuals, businesses, and communities to continue its important work. There are several ways to get involved and support the foundation including Memberships to participate in tournaments, Sponsorships where businesses and organization can sponsor the tournaments and events, and Donations – no matter the size – makes a difference.
